Away Game

Gehrig had a football game in Heber this week. I was glad because it made us take a drive in the canyon and see the fall leaves. We have been so busy we haven't been able to fit it in any other way! The other nice thing was that Grandma and Grandpa Stoddard got to go with us. They were here spending the week and we got to see them a few times. It was nice to have them so close! We left a little early so we could stop at the Dairy Keen and eat dinner. That is one of our favorite places to go as a family when we go to Heber. It is just your average burger and shake kind of place, but they have a train that goes around the ceiling and a fun train that you can eat in out front. You wouldn't guess it from the pictures here, but Gehrig's game was reallly exciting. The Heber team, Wasatch, is the best team in their league and they stopped them from scoring until the very last part of the first half. Our team came back during the second half and tied it up. Wasatch ended up scoring two more times. The final score was 21-7, but our guys did not make it easy for them. Gehrig has excellent coaches this year. They really know how to motivate the boys.

Here is Gable on the train outside.

Gehrig was already with his team and Emma stayed behind with a friend. Robert was at work and so it was just Grandma and Granpa, Gable, Sophie and I. It was fun to spend a little more time with Gable than usual.

Gable noticed the grasshopper on this car as we were leaving. I had him take a picture of it. I love the details that kids notice while the adults are busy with "more important things"!:)

Here is Grandma and Grandpa and Sophie all bundled up. Joan was feeling a little silly at first for bringing her gloves and ear muffs but it ended up being pretty chilly.

Gable laying on the "pillow thingy" that grandma made for him by folding up our blanket. I am always so impressed by her resourcefulness!

Wow, I can't believe how old your kids are. We'll have to get together sometime.
