Gehrig has been working really hard to earn his Arrow of Light before he turns 11 in August. One of the things he had to do for his Outdoorsman is set up a tent and go on a campout with his family or den. We aren't really up for camping yet with Sophie around so we told Gehrig the backyard would have to do. He got the tent out and set it up by himself (with a little help from Emma and Gable) then they all loaded the tent with sleeping bags, treats and games and had a good time together. That is until time to go to sleep. Then Emma and Gable started to hear every single noise outside. They were about to bail out on Gehrig when Robert saved the day or night I guess, by agreeing to sleep out with them. Overall it was a success! The campout ended in the morning with Gehrig peeing right out the door of the tent and Gable pulling the tent post down and collapsing it on Gehrig and Emma. All of these activities caused Robert to give an impromtu history lesson. Did you know that General George Washington severely punished (sometimes by death) soldiers that went to the bathroom too close to their cabins in Valley Forge?

Death certainly seems reasonable for such an offense. Good job Gehrig on setting up the tent and working toward your arrow of light. We need to be working on that with Noah.
males and peeing outside! they never grow out of it. at least moyers don't, i think its a handed down tradition. because i know it didn't start with jason
Now I wish I had a history book memorized when I need an impromptu important lesson. How lucky!
