A Christmas Casualty

Let it be written that during the tree decorating of 2008, we sadly bade good-bye to our much beloved, Boingy Santa Claus ornament. Robert and I acquired him during a shopping trip to Park City in anticipation of our first Christmas together nearly fifteen years ago. As a new ornament he had a spring between the top of his hat and his hanging hook and with just a slight tug by his owners he would bounce up and down. Thus creating the effect of being caught by his hat on the tree. As time went by, he was so loved by the children that have blessed our home that his spring was stretched and no longer of use. And still we loved him and found a special place for him on our tree each year. But alas, as that special place was being selected this year, he was dropped on the floor and his poor legs were broken off! After a thorough examination it was determined that he was beyond repair. And so it is that with much regret, we will find a new ornament to take his place in 2009. We will miss you Boingy Santa Claus! Rest in peace.

So sad and tragic. He may join out Dumbo ordainment of 2006, which was snapped in half last year and never EVER made it in a tree! Poor Dumbo.

Se la vie! Eh! I hope you have found a quiet special place to lay his remains! You should check out the Christmas store in Gardner Village they have so many cute ones...not that you could ever replace Boingy Santa Claus, of course! I can tell he had a special place in all of your hearts!
